'Twas bright, and the sneaky turtle Did wander and lurk in the wake: All carefree were the river bass, And the dreary wraths of the rapids outreach.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The furious Bandersnatch!"
He took his bloodthirsty sword in hand; Long time the vicious foe he sought - So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in deep, uncomfortable thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came speeding through the thick wood, And angry as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through The bloodthirsty blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went back, going in triumph.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O fabulous day! Hurrah! Hurray!' He giggled in his joy.
