Dios told an old man and old woman to tell everyone that there will be a very big flood; when the flood comes, get to the top of the mountain and do not look at the flood or the sky.
Dios was right and no one believed him. It started to rain and it started to flood. Only a few people made it to the mountain. If they looked at the flood, they would turn into a fish or a frog. If they looked at the sky, they would turn into a bird. Only a few people succeeded.
If they felt hungry, all they had to do was think of food and it would go in their stomach. They had to do this for six days; and only a handful of people survived. Then the flood stopped and the man led the people to three different mountain caves to live.
The flood started to clear, and things were looking better for the townspeople.
About that time, a coyote found a baby in a whirlpool and rescued it and raised the baby itself. It turned out to be the chief's baby. The chief sent out water to draw the coyote and the baby back.
The coyote used his magic to make the mountain grow but the water would rise more each time the mountain grew. They found the baby under the coyote's coat of fur and threw the baby into the water and the water receded and everything went back to normal. But when another flood came, instead of drowning, the chief turned his men into stone and they guard the mountains to this day.
