  • The narrator tells the story on how he killed the old man. The narrator also tells us why he killed him, and thats because of the old mans "Evil Eye" which vexes the narrator.
  • Climax
  • The narrator watches the old man sleep for eight nights. Being quiet as can be and only shows a little light from the lantern he holds.
  • Falling Action
  • On the eight night the narrator chuckles to himself because of the old mans fear. That chuckles wakes up the old man and he stays awake for a little over an hour and tells himself thats its just the wind and tries to comfort himself while the narrator stays still.
  • The narrator couldn't killed the old man for it wasn't that he hated the old man it was his "Evil Eye" that vexed him. But when the old man awoke the narrator castes a single thing of light that landed right on his eye. That is when the narrator made his moved and killed him. By smothering the old man with his mattress.
