Storyboard Text

  • Once the battle was over, everything was calm, except for the fact that there was talk around the kingdom that Sita was unfaithful to Rama while in Lanka.
  • "She is unfit to be queen!"
  • "Rama must not forget she lived with another man!"
  • Many of Rama's men get word of this and report it back to him, little to they know, Rama has already heard and has a plan of action.
  • "I have heard the ugly rumors and lies. I cannot rule with her by my side, tomorrow, take Sita to the forest and leave her there."
  • "The people of our kingdom are questioning your wife's virtue, even the lowest men speak of her."
  • Reluctantly, Lakshmana went along with it and ordered two messengers to take her to the forest. When they left Sita had the urge to kill herself by jumping into the river. But an old man told her not to enter the river.
  • "Do not enter!"
  • "Let life go, Sita. Do not outlive life. Come home. Come home. Dive into me."
  • The old man, named Valmiki, saved her life by telling her not to dive into the river. Sita gave birth to Rama's sons, Kusa and Lava . Valmiki treated the, with great honor, he taught them a great poem called the Ramayana, and taught them to play it on their flute and drum.

  • Rama decided to have a festival with storytelling, and music. Kusa and Lava came, and recited the poem, when they told him the name of the poem Rama knew the truth.
  • "The Ramayana, sir."
  • Sita came to the kingdom the next day, and Rama was speechless. After she was swallowed up by the earth to prove her innocence. Rama returned to Vishnu. Kusa and Lava sang the Ramayana, and whoever listened to it would regularly find increased love, wisdom, and strength.”
  • "What is my life? I must return home."
  • "Mother earth, if I have been faithful to my husband, take me home."
