Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • I am sane. I am not mad. Even though, I killed a man.
  • Conflict
  • That wretched eye! I will eliminate it!
  • RISING ACTION
  • The story takes place with a man speaking. This is the narrator. However, he killed a man. He is trying to persuade the reader that he is sane, and not insane. Then, he begins to rehash the story.
  • CLIMAX
  • DIE!!!!!!!!!!
  • Next, the conflict of the narrator is an eye of an old man. He claims he has nothing against him, only his evil vulture eye.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • What's going on? The police are here!
  • Nothing, sir! Please come in. I have nothing to hide.
  • Every night for a week, at exactly twelve o'clock, the narrator would sneak into the old man's room and would watch him sleep. He would do this by poking his head through the door, with his dark lantern.
  • Resolution
  • Something wrong?
  • I keep hearing noises! And it won't stop! I did it! I killed that old man!
  • On the eighth night of stalking this old man, the narrator got caught. The old man woke up and was looking around wildly, as to who was looking at him. In a panic, the narrator jumped out and suffocated the old man with a mattress. Eventually, the man died.
  • AGH!!!!
  • It was a gruesome scene that the narrator accomplished. He cut up the old man and hid the parts under the floor boards. A few hours later, the police showed up and asked to come in. They came because they heard a scream from the neighbors.
  • The police stayed for a while. However, the man started to feel uncomfortable. He heard noises that nobody else heard. It became louder! That sound was from the heart of the old man. Then, the narrator confessed. In the end, was he sane or insane?
  • Thump! Thump! THUMP!
