Zeus God of cloud, Rouses up a storm in the north against the ships, and driving veils.
We came to the coastline of the Lotus-Eaters, who live upon the flower. We landed there to take on water.
All hands aboard; come, clear the bench and no one taste the lotus or you lose your hope of home
I Sent two picked men and runner to learn what race of men that land sustained. They fell in soon enough with lotus eaters, who showed no will to do us harm.
The men who ate this honeyed plant, the lotus, never cared to report, nor return. Forgetful of their homeland.
Odysseus calls his men onto the boat as to keep them from eating the lotus and staying there forever.
Odysseus Ties up his men who ate the lotus under their rowing benches and leaves.
