This scene is important because Hamlet speaks how he feels to his mother and he is hurting. She acts clueless to his emotions and this will prove to later make Hamlet crazy.
This scene is important because Hamlet says to Polonius he basically doesn't care about his life and it shows how hurt he is. (which continues throughout the story.
This scene is important because Hamlet shows hatred toward females and Ophelia who he is supposed to love.
