Daniel Hale Williams was born on july 9th, 1956 into a family of seven brothers and sisters. Daniel Williams Jr, his fate died when he was seven, leaving his mother overwhelmed
Sarah Price Williams, his mother sent her children away in her grief. Soon after Daniel followed his fathers former profession and took an apprenticeship with a barber.
Dr. Henry Palmer found Williams clipping hair and immediately noted his agility, soon apprenticing him in medicine and helping him get into the Chicago Medical Hospital.
In 1883 Williams graduates from Chicago Medical Collage! This i s achieved with the hold of Dr. Henry and constant saving. He goes on to begin private practice in interracial communities.
At 35 years old Williams opens the first hospital open to black and white patients. He began to train other black doctors and nurses to integrate the medicine industry.
He took the nickname "Dr. Dan" to make patients who had never seen doctors before (for lack of availability) feel comfortable.
