Antigone wants to bury her brother, Polynices but Ismene does not think it's a good idea.
"And now you can prove what you are: A true sister, or a traitor to your family." (Sophocles Prologue. 25-7).
Gender roles is applied when Ismene says that they cant fight the men because they are women.
"We are only women. We can not fight with men, Antigone!" (Sophocles Prologue. 46-8).
Antigone says she's going to do it with or without her, showing civil disobedience.
"But I will bury him: and if I must die, I say that this crime is holy: I shall lie down with him in death and I shall be as dear to him as he to me. (Sophocles Prologue. 55-7).
