World War 2 ends then the United States, Britain, and France reach an altercation with the Soviet Union to whom will posses Berlin since both sides suppressed the Nazi's to a stop. The Allied Peace Conferences at Yalta and Potsdam determins their fate of Germany's territories. Eastern Part belongs to the Soviet Union while the Western to the U.S, UK, and eventually France. This conference states Berlin to be divided into two currency zones.
Two Soviet Union officers are preventing supplies to be brought into their West Berlin. Numerous places and resources get blocked off such as the electricity from Berlin (Soviets used their own) and the rail and road links to West Berlin. Officers are informed that this is to limit the ability of U.S, UK, and France to travel into the USSR sector of Berlin. The Soviets wants to punish the citizens of Germany for causing the cold war.
Planes being transported to East Berlin with 1.5 million tons of supplies. The three allied forces believe that the Soviets are leaving their side to starve so they could surrender, this is why the West sends air mandatory resources. The Soviets do not think that an airlift would work because they feel the people of Berlin would eventually give up. The airlift goes on for one year.
