  • Hamartia- Fatal flaw leading to a tragic event
  • 
  • Hubris- Excessive pride 
  • Peripeteia- Sudden reversal of fortune
  • He rushes into things. He falls for Juliet so quickly that he doesn’t think through the consequences.
  • Anagnorisis- A critical discovery
  • Challenges death and fate because things are going so well. He thinks that nothing can go wrong.
  • Nemesis-The inescapable agent of someone's or something's downfall
  • Romeo slays Tybalt, then the Prince exiles him and things go down hill from there.
  • Catharsis-The process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.
  • Romeo gets the news that Juliet is so called 'dead', his suicidal thoughts grow larger.
  • When he goes to visit Juliet's tomb, he is given a poison that will kill him.
  • He drinks the poison so that he can die with Juliet.
