  • Of Beowulf
  • A moral tale is a type of story that was popular during the 15th and 16th centuries. These stories use allegory to portray the struggle between both good and evil, and usually end in a lesson.
  • Arthurian Legends
  • A legend is a traditional story that is sometimes regarded as historical, but is unauthenticated. Legends tend to be very well known stories. Early British Legends have been seen to have very similar story lines.
  • Le Morte d'Arthur
  • Of Beowulf follows the epic hero poem format, while following the main character, Beowulf, through his epic hero cycle in the Land of the Danes. Of Beowulf originated from the fifth-century A.D. during the economic and cultural decline.
  • Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
  • "A man who's true to his word, There's nothing he needs to fear; You failed me, though, on the third exchange, so I've tapped you here.
  • The Legendary King Arthur is believed to be modeled off of a real fifth/sixth-century Celtic Military Leader. The story of King Arthur is known primarily through Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, which consists of many tales combined.
  • Le Morte d'Arthur follows the aftermath of an adultery between Sir Launcelot and King Arthur's wife, Queen Gwynevere. After sending Launcelot to France, King Arthur still wants revenge on his favorite knight. A bloody battle results in a death of a great king.
  • King Arthur's knights of the Round Table serve to obey the code of chivalry, unlike many other stories of King Arthur. Sir Gawain, famous for his courage and unfailing chivalry is put to the test against the Green Knight, failing to represent King Arthur correctly.
