  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • In the beginning of the story the old woman is walking home alone when a boy tries to take her purse.
  • Climax
  • When the boy tugged on the purse the strap broke immediately and the boy instantly fell back onto the ground.
  • Falling Action
  • After the boy fell the woman then picked him up and shook him till his teeth rattled. Then she dragged him all the way to her house.
  • Resolution
  • She led the boy down the hallway into the bathroom where she made him wash his face. Then she trusted him not to run out of the house or leaving knowing he knew he was not going to regret not leaving.
  • Then the woman told the boy about how she was young once and did things she was ashamed of. She then also made him dinner and ate.
  • After he told her why he tried to take her purse and they ate dinner the lady led the young boy out side and gave him the money for the shoes he wanted and told him to stay out of trouble.
