  • Black defendants are more likely to be found guilty. However, white juries may find black defendants not guilty, perhaps for fear of being considered racist?
  • I hope that the jury have the same ethnic background as me

  • Because I'm female, I'm more likely to find unattractive people guilty.
  • I'm more likely to find attractive people guilty because I'm male.
  • If we think that people may have used their attractiveness to benefit them in their crime, we are more likely to find them guilty
  • Jurors may give up their individual views and conform to the majority view instead.
  • I'm not sure what is going on and so will show informational conformity as I look to the group for guidance
  • I am of higher status and so can influence others
  • Social loafing and the influence of the selected foreperson may also influence the verdict of a trial
  • I am the foreperson, and I have an authoritarian personality
  • I can't be bothered. I'll just go along with what the others say.
