Amelia Earheart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24,1897.
Amelia worked as a military nurse in Canada during World War 1. Amelia also worked as a social worker in the Denison House in Boston after the war.
Amelia moved often with her family. But when her parents heard that she wanted to fly a airplane they didn't approve. Amelia did it anyway.
In 1931 Amelia married George Palmer Putnam
Amelia became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. It was completed in the record time of 14 hours and 56 minutes.
Sadly, Amelia's plane crashed and her plane was never found. Amelia died on July 2, 1937.
