Hamartia- the flaw that causes a hero's downfall Hubris- excessive pride
When Creon told Oedipus about what happened at the crossroads, Oedipus did not trust Creon and is going to find the murderer.
Peripeteia- reversal of fortune Anagnorisis- the moment when a hero makes a critical discovery
While trying to find the murderer Oedipus reveals it was him all along. He also realizes the prophecy fulfilled.
Nemesis- fate that cannot be avoided Catharsis- the feeling of pity or fear the audience experiences when the hero dies
