- Run by the president. The president carries out the laws and the recommendation for new laws. He also directs national and foreign policies.
- Executive Branch
- Headed by the Congress which also includes the House of Representatives and the senate. Their main job is too pass laws, originate bills and impeach other officials.
- Legislative Branch
- Separating the executive, legislative, and judicial branches into three separate bodies of power.
- Separation of Powers
- Emphasized that the Constitution would create a federal system. Believed that power should be divided between a central and a regional government
- Federalist
- A movement that disagreed with making a stronger federal government for the US.
- Anti-Federalist
- A document consisting of 10 amendments that gave the people of the US hard won rights and personal freedoms from the government.
