  • "restrain in me the cursed thoughts that nature gives way to in repose" (2.1.9-11)
  • Banquo is tempted by the witches' prophecy since Macbeth's fate came true.
  • "I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters: To you they have showed some truth." (2.1.25-26)
  • The witch's version of fate pushes Macbeth to kill Duncan.
