  • THEME
  • Hysteria has a huge appearance for The Crucible. So many people overreact and make a big deal out of everything. For example, the girls are most likely pretending and act insane. Also, the reactions of the judges makes no sense- they are believing all of the nonsense.
  • Paranoia is also a major theme in The Crucible. There are a lot of false accusations where people are so nervous that they accuse innocents.
  • Reputation is a big deal in Salem. Everyone is known for their name. Either your name is good or it is bad. For example, John Proctor left his name and his family is known for his strong, powerful, bold legacy.
  • PLOT: TEXT VS MOVIE
  • The movie and text had the same storyline and main idea. The scenes were very similar and had the same things happen in both visual and written.
  • There were a few differences between The Crucible movie and book, including the forest scene in the beginning of the movie, but the scene was explained in the middle of the book.
  • The text and the movie had all the same characters. The characters interacted and had very many similar lines in the book and the movie.
