Storyboard Text

  • The Ordinary World
  • The Call to Adventure
  • Crossing the Threshold
  • Belle is a unique girl that reads books while everybody else in this little French village doesn't know how to. She has a father that she lives with, who is a tinker, and a mother that passed from an unknown reason. She doesn't have any friends in the village, and a man named Gaston is insanely in love with her.
  • The Ordeal
  • Maurice, Belle's father, leaves early one morning for a one-day market trip. By night time, his horse comes running back alone. Belle asks the horse to take her where her father is, and she's off on her way. Her blue dress represents serenity because she is untroubled even though she is harshly judged by the whole village.
  • The Road Back
  • Belle rides to the castle into a whole other world. The weather is completely different and it is snowing. The white snow represents terror as Belle is entering a new and unknown place where her father has been captured by a beast. Belle decides to take her father's place in the dungeon.
  • Return With the Elixir
  • Belle is dancing with the Beast and realizes that she has feelings for him and isn't afraid to show them anymore. Her yellow dress represents hope and happiness. She is happy although she is still locked up and there is new hope that everything can change.
  • Belle sees through the Beast's magic mirror that her father is troubled and ill. She is extremely upset, so the Beast allows her to leave. She gets to the village on her father's horse through the forest.
  • The last petal on the rose falls and everything in the castle is destroyed. The Beast falls to the floor and dies. Belle is crying and tells the Beast that she loves him and all of a sudden everything becomes bright and happy once again.
