Storyboard Text

  • In the 1970s, there were several different groups that rebelled against conformity and society, including environmental protection groups, feminists, and racial equality groups.
  • NO MORE RACISM!
  • Protect the environment
  • Women have rights, too!
  • Stop pollution, folks!
  • One problem with the economy was in 1973, when OPEC embargoed the oil for the U.S.A. This resulted in Americans having to ration oil.
  • Why do we have to take the bus to school?
  • Mom and Dad said we've used our share of oil for this week.
  • In 1972, President Nixon was involved in a scandal at the Watergate building, and later tried lying to cover it up, which destroyed many Americans' trust and confidence in the government.
  • Remember, you can always trust the U.S. government!
  • What a load of garbage.
