  • Everything Is Supposed To be Uniform
  • The Officials
  • Matching Ceremony
  • The Society makes everyone follow the same rules. They have everyone wear the same plainclothes. You had to be in your house by curfew, and you have to carry around you tablet container
  • Connection to The Giver
  • The Officials are in charge of running the Society. They wear white to show that they are at a higher level. They are in separated into different groups, and control their departments.
  • Connection to Harrison Berguron
  • In the Matching Ceremony, teens that are 17 are matched with other people from different societies. Once they've been matched they can decide if they want to have children and if they want to get married.
  • Allusions in Matched
  • In the Giver the community is run by elders, in Matched the Society is run by Officials.Although the Giver has no color the community in Matched if full of a lot of them.
  • In Harrison, they have to wear certain clothes. In Matched the people in the Society have to wear plainclothes. They wear them because it shows that they aren't as important as the Officials.
  • In Matched they are controlled by Officials, in the Giver they have elders that run their community. a painting that Cassia is looking at alludes to angels, from when people worshipped.
