To give you a concrete example of the effects of grace on living a moral life, take the virtue of charity. As I said before, grace allows us to do good... for example, charity work. This brings us back to the objective of this class - living a moral life. To live a moral life, we must do God's will, and God's will is to do good. All three things - grace, doing good, and living a moral life - are intertwined.
That makes sense. But why do I need GRACE to live a moral life? Can't I do it through other gifts from God instead? Like love.
Love is impossible without the gift of Grace. Love is a free gift from God, but it is a sharing of oneself in an unselfish nature. Love cannot be demanded and has to be freely given. Therefore, to love requires free will. Free will does not come without the gift of Grace. Again, all three are intertwined - love, free will, and grace.
