The Case of the Runaway Baseball
Newton's Third Law of Motion
It was a normal evening in Spencerville, the school baseball team was having a game against the Stewarts Town Giants, and the whole town was there praying for a win.
I think I can hit it this time!
All of Spencerville cheered as the batter hit the ball. The ball soars through the sky and it seems that it won't stop. The batter and the pitcher were sent to go retrieve the ball.
Uh-oh, Its not stopping
It was near Halloween, and the whole town took pride in their decorating, there was no house without a jack o'lantern outside.
The batter and the pitcher finally found it! They ran toward the soaring ball with outstreched arms when noticing the pumpkin below it and the fact the ball was falling due to gravity.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Splat!! The ball crashed into the pumpkin, after the gravitational force overtook it.
