Eventually, the Declaration of Independence was created and signed. The Declaration was created and signed in 1776 on July 4th. This was the official document that separated the colonies from Britain.
Besides the Declaration, the loyalists had a few other reactions. The Boston Tea Party is probably one of the most popular or known reaction. The tar and feathering was another reaction as the Sons of Liberty found and tared British officials and tax collectors. Another was letters written by a persuasive farmer that helped sway a lot of neutral people to the Patriots.
Valley Forge was the place where the colonist troops really brought themselves together. George Washington trained and "polished" the troops. George Washington trapped and encircled Yorktown and made General Cornwallis surrender.
British won most of the war especially with the great battle strategy of blockades. This tried to prevent the French in aiding the colonists. In the end, the French got past the blockade and was able to give supplies.
The odds weren't the greatest but the colonists won the war! America gained Independence and white men got rights. Britain had to leave all American goods behind and the colonists won land.
•However, with every good comes a bad. The colonists were deeply indebted to the French. The French started to drag America and the colonists into war. The colonists lost their main trading partner. Not including the 217,000 colonists deaths.
