Ahh, finally awake. I should go see what father is doing downstairs...
It seems the store hasn't quite opened yet, my father is perhaps making sure everything wasn't stolen before opening. I should get going to school soon!
Children often sleep together with other family members because of lack of space in the house.
Store owners sometimes had to make sure that their merchandise wasn't stolen as well as the children go off to their schools.
Children walked through crowded streets to get the the Church for their lessons on being a 'woman'.
In the church they would learn how to become 'good wives' by learning to cook, sew and do other 'womanly' things.
They then would walk back home through the crowded, dirty, and smelly streets to get back home and kept things close so they wouldn't get stolen.
Later that night children and possibly other families as well as parents, slept in the same room.
