Man vs. Man
In Chapter 6 of The Pact, during the summer Sam distanced away from George and Rameck and spent most of the time with his neighborhood friends. His friend at many times pressured him, saying that he can earn money an easier way, by selling drugs but he knew that it was wrong. Eventually he eased his way out not wanting to keep that same life style. He didn't want to appear weak to them even though he knew that they were doing wrong. They offered him to smoke cocaine and weed but yet he turned it down because he knew right from wrong. He felt that he had to lie to say no to the drugs but was afraid of what they would think of him. This is an example of a man vs. man conflict because he has to overcome the efforts that his friends did to get him into the drugs like them. It was his birthday and that day realized many things. It was difficult to say no but he had to change. He knew what was right and knew that he didn't want to be like his neighborhood friends he wanted to be more like his friend school friend, George. Rameck thought that George believed in many things that he thought would never come true but, George believe in those thing because he knew that maybe someday they would all come true and be the real life he hoped that one day his dreams of becoming a dentist or at least be someone successful would come true. Rameck also realized that his neighborhood friend were guiding him through the wrong path and would get nowhere with them in the way so, he knew he had to let his friend go if he wanted to change and go to collage to be more like his friend, George.
