tone/mood with word choice
the mood and/or tone of tell-tale heart is very dark and mad; not angry but insane or going insane.
The dialect was pretty mature little slang, very studderish very easy to tell he is either crazy or very very guilty (in his case both)
the author used a lot of imagery in the story with the old man's eye how it haunted the man until he could no longer take it
simile, metaphor or personification
Some irony in this story was how the main character was being very cocky about what he had done until his guilt began to overwhelm him
tell-tale heart had idiom by using cocky phrases showing pride and confidence with what he had done until slowly guilt crept in his mind
