part 2 immigrant experience
This storyboard does not have a description.
The journey over was a difficult one. We packed up what little belongings we could carry and snuck onto the ship with another family trying to secretly escape. The ship was cold, dark and unforgiving. Without much food, water, or medicine, I'm grateful to have survived.
Once we arrived, we were scared and unsure of what to do. Luckily the other family on the ship helped us begin our new lives in the land of the free. Although we lived in a cramped room and were very poor, we were very lucky to have escaped the Genocide.
America amazed me. Coming from a completely different world to America taught me so much. Even though living conditions were rough and we had no money, I am just grateful to be alive and free.
Now that I am in America, my whole life has changed for the better. I got a job, I go to school, and I am starting my life in a way that I never could have in my home country.
