Sarah was dumped by her ex and is shutting people out in her life. She does not want people to see her vulnerable and weak. She is afraid to open up to others and possibly meet someone she could potentially date again. After unexpectedly running into a best friend of hers, she finds comfort in spending time with her, being able to laugh and talk about anything. She realizes shutting people out and being vulnerable does not make her weak but stronger. She is able to move past her sadness and fins it in her to open up to another. Sarah is happy and willing to be vulnerable in the presence of others because it is what makes her closer to others and develop healthy and positive relationships
Sarah is home alone, sad and alone. She feels isolated and alone from the world, her boyfriend just broke up with her and she does not want to be around others. She is putting up a wall because she does not want to be hurt again.
Sarah gets a texts from her friends asking her if she wants to hang out and do something fun to take her mind off things. She does not feel like talking to anyone and decides to go for a walk by herself.
Sarah goes to her favorite park bench and sees one of her best friends there.
I know you are sad and wanting to shut people out but that will only make you hard inside. You know I am always here for you and you have people who love you no matter what.
Sarah realizes her friend is right and that shutting people out because she was hurt will only make her feels worse. The two of them go on a walk together and chat about the funny stories and memories they have shared in the past.
After some time has gone by, Sarah is past her ex and unexpectedly meets an old guy friend of hers. She is reluctant at first to open up to him. She is scared of getting hurt, looking vulnerable and opening herself up to another person again.
Sarah and her old friend Luke get closer over time, she is able to open herself up again and finds comfort and happiness in being able to confide and trust in him. Sarah is grateful for her friend being there for her, helping her realize that vulnerability can be a positive rewarding thing, and getting close to people will help her grow in life not bring her down.
