Storyboard Text

  • Piper is looking at Natalie because she thinks something is wrong with her.
  • PIPER, DON'T LOOK AT HER LIKE THAT!
  • Natalie is rocking in her room.
  • This image shows how Natalie is shy.
  • Natalie is having a tantrum because something isn't her way.
  • When Moose first moved on Alcatraz, nobody knew anything about Natalie. But people looked at her and thought something was wrong with her. " Okay, so she's good at math. But something is wrong with her, Piper says." (Choldenko 18) Piper was thinking something was wrong with Natalie. When Piper looked at Natalie, Moose told her to not look at Natalie that way.
  • 23...48...100
  • Sometimes Natalie has days where she either has tantrums or sits in her room rocking. "At home she'd spend hours in her room rocking like a boat in a terrible storm. But it was UCLA, my mother would remind us." (Choldenko 65) People were trying to figure out the type of diagnosis she had because of the way she was and the things she does.
  • OH MY GOD! I am so sorry Natalie!
  • Natalie is a little worried/upset because her buttons spilled everywhere.
  • Sometimes Natalie is shy or having tantrums because she doesn't have something she wants with her. "Natalie is very shy at times but then for the last 4 days. Natalie lives in her own world at times." (Choldenko 18) Natalie gets upset when she doesn't get things her way. For example is she doesn't have her buttons with her she could possibly have a tantrum.
  • I want lemon cake!
  • What do you guys want for breakfast?
  • Natalie is very precise with her things. If she doesn't have things a certain way, she could get irritated. "We wait until she finishes the last stitch at the bottom, before she starts again with the first stitch at the top." (Choldenko 69 & 70) Before Natalie left Esther P. Marinoff school, she was counting the stitching at the bottom of the chair.
  • Natalie and Moose were walking back from the Wardens office and Moose knocked over Natalie's buttons. At this moment, Natalie was anxious and curled up into a ball. "But Natalie doesn't look. She curls up into a tight little ball on the cement. Buttons, stones, and feathers all around." (Choldenko 118) Natalie was a little worried and so was Moose. This is because he felt bad for knocking over her buttons on the ground.
  • Natalie was very uninterested in a lot of things besides, lemon cake, her buttons, and counting things. "There's extra lemon cake, and of course her buttons. If she wants to play with buttons all day long, it's perfectly fine with me." (Choldenko 180) Natalie is always asking for lemon cake in the morning. If you let Natalie eat lemon cake all day, she would!
