  • Bell was a American political in the United states, He was a democrat until 1841
  • Breckinridge is a politician and he was the 14th vice president of the United States  
  • Douglas was a American political from illinois,also losing to Republican Lincoln
  • Bells's issues were Avoid the slavery issue and keep the country united 
  • Lincoln's issues were prohibit slavery in territories, contain slavery where it exists 
  • Douglas issues were oppose federal slave code in territories,support popular sovereigny 
  • Breckinridge issues were support federal slave code in territories, support popular sovereignty
  • Abraham lincoln won the election!
  • Even though Lincoln did not win the popular vote, he won the election with a total of 180 electoral votes. Lincoln's victory prompted South Carolina to secede from the United States. They had been on the verge to secede and the outcome of the election was their last sting.
