  • INTRODUCTION
  • The Great Barrier Reef stretches over 2,300 kilometres from Tropical North Queensland. One of Australia's remarkable natural gifts and part of the original eight wonders of the world. The first coral reef to be awarded World Heritage status.The world's largest coral reef is blessed with an abundance of marine life and tropical islands.
  • MARINE LIFE
  • 30 species of large marine mammals including the Dwarf Minke Whale, Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphin and the Humpback Whale. 215 species of birds, with the White-Bellied Sea Eagle and Roseate Turn frequently sighted. 1,625 species of fish including Clownfish, Red Bass, Red-Throat Emperor, Snapper and Coral Trout.
  • CORALS
  • The amazing array of coral on the Great Barrier Reef is responsible for the vibrant colours of the natural icon. 600 types of hard and soft corals. Hard corals, forming on limestone skeletons, include Staghorn Coral and Brain Coral. Sea Fans, Gorgonians are flexible soft corals which has a jelly-like feel.

  • The Southern Great Barrier Reef region welcomed two million Australian visitors in the year to March 2016, an increase of seven per cent, resulting in more than 7.7 million visitor nights. It is larger than the Great Wall of China and the only living thing on earth visible from space.

  • ACTIVTIES
  • A range of Cairns Seaplane Tours will allow you to experience Green Island or Sandy Cay on the Great Barrier Reef with the luxury of small passenger numbers combined with a Seaplane scenic flight, flying at an altitude of 500 feet above the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Calm, protected, shallow spots around the islands are perfect for first-time divers and surfers. There are gentle reef sites, rich in fish life and corals and the deeper sites on the outer reefs for those with some experience.  The trip to our pontoon departs Airlie Beach, Daydream Island and Hamilton Island every day, journeying past spectacular islands enroute to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Once at the reef, board our incredible interactive pontoon and spend the day exploring the colourful underwater world of magnificent corals, colourful fish and marine life.
