  • The Battle of Pea Ridge March 7-8, 1862
  • The Battle of Memphis (June 6, 1862)
  • This was George Washington's only military surrender, resulted in a French and Native American victory.
  • The Battle of Antietam (September 17th - 19th, 1862)
  • Two Confederate generals were killed during this war, resulted in the Union winning.
  • The Battle of Corinth (October 3rd - 4th, 1862)
  • This was the last time civilians with no military experience were able to command ships.  
  • The Battle of Vicksburg (May 18th - July 4th, 1863)
  • There was a total of 22,717 deaths. The first day is known as one of the bloodiest days in American history. 
  • The second time that General William Rosecrans defeated a Confederate army.
  • It causes Union forces to have complete control of the Mississippi River.
