Mr. Norris is tennis instructor. Cressener is the opposite, he more of a mobster. The bad guy. When he finds out that his Mr. Norris and his wife Marcia are having an affair he confronts Mr. Norris.
Cressner basically makes a bet with Mr. Norris. He tells him if he can walk around the ledge of his building, he can have his freedom, his wife and the money that is sitting in the couch in a brown bag. If not he'll frame him by putting drugs in Mr. Norris' car and send him to jail.
Mr. Norris loves Marcia, so he decides to take the deal. He begins his journey around the ledge in a windy cold night.
Trying not to think of the height and falling over, Mr. Norris slowly walks around the ledge. He is very cold. Half way around the building he was attack by a bird; hurting his ankle. Mr. Norris checks the time.
When Mr. Norris makes it back alive, Cressner tells him Tony removed the drugs from his car and to take the money. On his way out, Cressner tells him that Marcia is dead. Mr. Norris attacks Cressner and Tony. Now he has the gun.
Cressner tries to offer Mr. Norris more money. He refuses. Instead, Mr. Norris tells him to walk around the ledge just like he was forced to do; if not he is going to shoot him. Cressner now stands on the ledge and is forced to go around.
