The Final Battle
We have no allies and everyone died!
Cortes. the conqusitadors, and the Tlaxclan allies retreated to Tlacala to recover. The Aztec were suffering from the smallpox that had been brought by the Spanish to the new world. About half of the population died in five months. Cuitlahuac also died from smallpox and Cuauhtemac succeeded him.
Cortes returned to Tenochtitlan with his allies and the warriors of Texcoco who had been part of the Triple Alliance. They saw the strength of the Spanish. The Aztec had no allies to support them and half of the population died from smallpox. It was hard to defend against the Spanish.
