  • The 13th amendment declared slavery illegal in the United States and all of it's territories
  • Dying crops
  • Because the 13th amendment bans slavery in the US all slave holders needed to free their slaves, which meant that they had no one to work for them or to harvest their crop, which made them very angry!
  • The North

  • When the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments were made northern soilders were sent to the south in order to be sure that people were following the rules, but when they were pulled out in 1877, everything went back to the way it was; sharecropping started, and black codes were made.
