Lennie retrieves the dead mouse that George through away , and George once again catches him and gives Lennie a lecture about the trouble he causes when he wants to pet soft things
"A mouse? A live mouse?"
"Uh-uh. Jus' a dead mouse, George. I didn't kill it. Honest! I found it. I found it dead."
The bunkhouse was a long, rectangular building. Inside, the walls were whitewashed and the floor unpainted. In three walls there were small, square windows, and in the fourth, a solid door with a wooden latch.
George finds a yellow card on the bed "Say. What the hell's this?"
kills lice, roaches' kind of bed you giving us, anyways. We don't want no pants rabbits."
"It wasn't much to you, maybe, but it was a hell of a lot to him.
Slim sat down beside a box and George took his place opposite.
"I would of had to drowned most of 'em anyways. No need to thank me about that."
