  • Langston's grandma always told him stories about her husband trying to convince him to become a hero.
  • 
  • When he was in school he was first learning how to write poems and read them.He was called class poet because he was the best one in class who could write poems. 
  • What he did in his career
  • When he was done with college he started to write more poems and then some even got published for example, "The Negro Speaks of Rivers," this poem talks about ancient rivers, where black people have lived.
  • His time in the Harlem Renaissance
  • 
  • The group including Langston used different styles and methods in their work but they all wanted the same goal.They wanted to create art by black Americans that showcased their talents and dreams.
