One day, little Willy and his dog, Searchlight, found his Grandfather laying in bed doing absolutely nothing.
Little Willy tells his local Doctor, Doc Smith, and she said that his Grandfather gave up on life.
Little Willy thought the problem was that the farm wasn't going to grow anymore potatoes, so Searchlight and Willy persevered to grow potatoes, but that wasn't the reason.
Later on, little Willy found out the real reason why his Grandfather gave up. The law came in and told little Willy the reason why his Grandfather gave up. His Grandfather owed 500 dollars in taxes.
Willy went to the bank and meets Mr. Foster, the president of the ban. Willy wanted to get a loan to pay the taxes, but he didn't because he had to pay the bank back. Then, he saw that he could enter a sledding contest and win 500 dollars. It costed 50 dollars to enter so he entered using his college money.
After he entered the race, he met Stone Fox an Native American that had never lost a dog sledding contest. Little Willy told Stone Fox that he was going to beat him and Stone Fox stood as a solid stone not saying a word.
