Storyboard Text

  • The Cask Of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe Andi Gurney 2nd hour
  • “Let us go, nevertheless. The cold is merely nothing. Amontillado!
  • "...The vaults are insufferably damp. They are encrusted with nitre.”
  • “Drink,” I said, presenting him the wine.
  • “I drink,” he said, “to the buried that repose around us.”
  • " I began vigorously to wall up the entrance of the niche.
  • Montresor is a bitter man who wants revenge against a local drunk named Fortunato. When he finds Fortunato he convinces him to go underground because there is said to be amontillado in the catacombs.
  • I called aloud:“Fortunato!”No answer. I called again:“Fortunato!”
  • Once Montresor and Fortunato are in the catacombs, Fortunato begins to cough because of all the mold underground. Montresor then acts concerned for his health and tells him they should go back but brings up another man that could do the job of tasting the alcohol. But then offers Fortunato more to drink because he begins to sober up.
  • ...
  • When they got to the place in the catacombs where there was an opening in the wall, Montresor chains Fortunato up and begins building a wall.
  • When Montresor is halfway done building the wall he stabs Fortunato and throws a torch behind the wall and continues to build a wall until he is finished with it.
  • 50 years have passed and has not been caught for the crime he has committed.
  • I re-erected the old rampart of bones. For the half of a century no mortal has disturbed them.
