  • The Happy North
  • Now that the competition is gone i can finally make my dreams and get rich.
  • Ya a tariff now I wont go out of business from competition!
  • WOW those prices are high i'm going somewhere else
  • The Disappointed South
  • $$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$
  • Im never gonna get any Buisness
  • The Disagreements toward the Government
  • I have a plan... Why don't we just split from the U.S.?
  • This is outrageous they cant do this to us!!!
  • The Tariff was passed on all imported goods from Europe. Manufactures in the North were glad to have this new tax because it meant that they could sell more goods because the imported stuff would go up in prices.
  • Webster Wins the Country
  • Unity Is KEY!!!!!!!
  • The merchants in the south hated the new tariff because it meant that their prices would have to go up making everyone want to buy their goods from somewhere else.
  • Jackson speaks his thoughts
  • Cheers to Unity in America
  • The south started to disagree with the tariff and started to consider alternative options. The south started to form the idea of seceding from the rest of America. This is a problem which eventually led to the civil war.
  • The lowering of the tariff
  • We must lower the Tariff otherwise we will split in two
  • Daniel Webster challenged the nullification with an argument so powerful it probably kept our country in one piece. He said that the nullification meant the end of a Union and he said, "Liberty and Union, Now and forever, one and inseparable.
  • President Jackson kept his thoughts silent until 1830 when he made a toast. He said in his toast, "Our federal Union...Must be preserved!" This was powerful because it showed how the presedent cared the peopel and their Unity.
  • The Tariff debate was finally finished when the government decided to lower the tariff. Some of the states still disagreed so America needed to lower it a little bit more. Some states were still upset but America knew that they couldn't leave the country without a fight, and they didn't have enough people
