The Spinning Jenny
How it was used
The inventor of the spinning jenny, James Hargreaves invented the spinning jenny so people could weave faster. It was named after his wife.
The Bad Effects
Before the Spinning Jenny, people used to have to weave cotton by hand. Only making 1 at a time
The Good Effects
You would use it by simply turning a wheel. It would make 8 threads at once! Later people made it so you could spin 80 threads. It eventually led to the "Loom" The loom is what we use today. Factories were the usual owners of the spinning jenny

Many people, that used to be cotton workers lost their job. A lot of families died of starvation and other things.
People were able to weave a lot faster and make more things with cotton faster, because they had more thread then they used too.
