Character- Darry Hits Ponyboy
Conflict- Greaser vs. Socs
Johnny's death is a turning point for Ponyboy. One way this event affects Ponyboy is the fact that his best friend died. This event causes ponyboy to feel grief and thinks about what happened. Another thing is that this causes Dally to suicidal and kill himself. This is losing 2 friends in one day is really hard for someone to go through. These events really cause Ponyboy to be in greif and feel really emotional.
The scene where Darry smacks Ponyboy affects him a lot, it really sets up the whole story and how it goes. When Darry smacked Ponyboy it really sealed the deal on Darry hates Ponyboy and would rather him in a boys home. This event really makes Ponyboy feel that his feelings were true and Darry does hate him.
When Johnny kills Bob, it really makes Ponyboy believe that Johnny really is his best friend and it also makes them flee the crime scene and run away from home. This is the second half of the story really. This event affects Ponyboy by making his move to the church with Johnny. This also makes him a juvenile delinquent, he is charged with accessory to murder. This scene makes him almost go to jail. This is another turning point in the story.
