  • Hey everyone! I'm Ria. I'm here to tell you how to be safe online. I don't want to scare you, but you need to know how to protect yourselves, ok? So, let's start!
  • 1. iS (Are) YOUR aCCOUNT(s) pRIVATE?
  • By account, I mean ALL the accounts you use online. Whether in social media or games, always be private so that you can be safe.
  • 2. No matter how well you think you know a person, NEVER go out and meet him/her without the consent of your parents. Even if your parents say yes, it is still dangerous. Ask them to go with you, because you never know if this person wants to do you harm. Or better yet, just DON'T GO!
  • Hey Ria! I'm Andrew. I met you in school a year ago...do you want to meet me later?
  • I will be able to fool her. hee hee hee!
  • Sorry, Andrew. I can't. My parents said no.
  • .........do you want to meet me later?
  • Oooh...I'd like to, but this could be a trap. So, no.
  • 3. If you see something online that hurts your feelings, you find mean or that you basically find inappropriate, tell an adult you trust: maybe your parents or your teacher. If there is such thing as bullying, there is also cyberbullying- bullying on the internet. Keep yourself and others safe.

  • 4. Don't accept random emails, text messages and the like because they may be viruses and traps. If you see them, show your parents or guardian/s and delete them.
