  • The beginning of Edgar Allen Poe
  • The death of his mother
  • The start of becoming a writer
  • Edgar Allen Poe was born January 19th 1809 in Boston Massachusetts. Edgar didn't really know his parents well because he was adopted and also lived with his grandparents.
  • Becoming a writer
  • His mom died when he was 2 years old in 1811. After he lived with his grandparents and got adopted by Mr. and Mrs. John right after. When he was about 6 years old he learned Latin, French, Math, and History in 5 years
  • Going Down-Hill
  • Edgar decided to join the army when he was 18. In 1831, Edgar had poetry published in New York City. John Allen (his father) passed away in 1834 and didn't mention Edgar in his will at all.
  • Death 1809-1849
  • Edgar later married his 13 year old cousin named Virginia. "Ligeia" and "The Haunted Palace" his 1st volume of short stories were published and soon only sold 20 copies. He then published "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" and sold 5,000 - 35,000 copies. Then he left Grahms Magazine to start his own company but it sadly failed.
  • On September 27, Poe left Richmond for New York again. On October 3, Poe was found at Gunner's Hall and was taken to the hospital.
  • Edgar Allen Poe died in the hospital on Sunday October 7th, 1849. He was In-n-Out with consciousness but never could explain what actually happened. Edgar's death led to myths and legends because it was never explained.
