In the year 1831, Native Americans began to be forcibly removed from their homes
The natives were seen as a threat to white settlers who, in the past, had tried to change the native's way of life to be more like their European counterparts. They tried to convert them to christianity and make them adapt to the European culture
The native's land in the southern states such as Tennessee, was very valuable to them. They put up as much of a fight as they could to keep it, They burned down houses and stole livestock from settlers.
