Storyboard Text

  • Really?
  • Did you know Electrons occupy only certain orbits around the nucleus?
  • I took your Bohr atom model one step ahead. I used mathematical equations to describe the likelihood of finding an electron in a certain position
  • Those orbits are stable and are called "stationary" orbits.
  • My atomic model is known as the quantum mechanical model of the atom.
  • But what is the name of your model?
  • Really!
  • My model is patterned on the solar system and is known as the planetary model.
  • Mine can be portrayed as a nucleus surrounded by an electron cloud.
  • That's what makes our atom models completely different.
  • My quantum mechanical model does not define the exact path of an electron, but rather, predicts the odds of the location of the electron.
  • Oh okay, now I know!
