Storyboard Text

  • During the Columbian Exchange many items were traded between the New and Old Worlds including animals, food, and disease. Some of these items were Small pox, potatoes, chocolate, and llama.
  • Small Pox
  • While Maya was participating in the Columbian Exchange, Dave came over other crew men.
  • We should use a compass, a navigational instrument using the earth's magnetic poles to go the right direction. We could also use the map the Christopher Columbus's brother made.
  • We should be getting back to school after all of those adventures.
  • I learned so much today, like that Mansa Musa was the richest man in history, Jewish were blamed for the Black Death, and the Columbian exchange was started by Christopher Columbus.
  • Now that we have learned about Trade and Economics. Let's learn about Government and Politics.
  • The next day...
  • We we'll learn about Feudalism and the Americas including the Aztec Empire, Maya Civilization, and Inca Empire.
  • The different classes of people that a person was born into was were they would have to work, and people usually did not move up. That's kind of like the Caste System in Hinduism with Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, Shudras, and Untouchables.
  • Feudalism was a balanced power between the Serfs and Knights. The Pope of the Christian Church took control, then the Kings, Lords, Vassals, Knights, and Serfs. The Serfs would work and farm for the protection from the Knights. The Knights would take an oath of honor, a homage, and would live by the chivalry, or a code of honor.
  • During the Black Death, many city states were hit very hard killing thousands including kingdoms in Sienna and Florence in Italy. During feudalism many city-states were controlled and protected by one ruler that would give power to others to control these places.
  • Feudalism allowed for Kings to give power to Lords and gave them land. The Lords would later give land to the Vassals and employ Knights for their protection. Serfs would farm and work as peasants and were not allowed to leave.
