Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • Malala lives in Swat Valley, a beautiful place in Pakistan where nature is abundant but the people are poor. Malala had been studying at Khushal School, an underground school for girls, since girls aren't allowed to study like boys are, due to the barbarous rule of the Taliban.
  • Climax
  • Swat Valley had been overrun by the Taliban, and her father has been fighting against it for some time. Malala and her father felt like they needed to speak out, because the Taliban held a strong grasp on Swat Valley and the Pakistan.
  • Falling Action
  • Malala, with the help of her father and Hai Kakar, a journalist, makes a diary under a fake name to speak out about her struggles under the Taliban. Even though it is dangerous because of the Taliban, Malala continues to go to school.
  • Resolution
  • Just her father feared, Malala was shot by the Taliban for going to school! She was severely injured, and was even flown out of Pakistan into Birmingham of the UK.
  • When she was at her hospital bed, Malala received prayers, gifts, sympathizers, and visitors. She was recovering slowly from cut nerve endings and surgeries she had so desperately needed. She even got to speak in the UK about the situation in Pakistan.
  • When she recovered, Malala got the Nobel Peace Prize. She and her family lived there ever since, even though they had no (legal) papers. Unfortunately, despite Malala's efforts and the army's promises, the Taliban still wreaks havoc in the area. A great flood in Swat Valley rendered the citizens weak and vulnerable.
  • Nobel Peace Prize.
